2011 results of HM Verga

On 7 February 2012 on a community forum Mr Tibor Szedl√°k , head of the  Forestry management department, HM Verga,  informed the public about the  activities HM Verga completed in 2011 and their  work schedule for 2012.

Mr. Imre Petr√≥czi representing the Balatonfelvidek National Park  advised the public about the works and results of 2011 in the partner meeting which was held in Budapest, on 7 February 2012. He reported about two completed actions too.

The lawn recultivation was completed in 2011

The continuation of the lawn recultivation, closed in March, started in December, instead of October what was earlier planned.

The second guided tour departed from Veszprem

It was the second time for interested people to participate in a guided tour in the area of the Varpalota Shooting Range, close to Veszprem. The full day program was held on Saturday, 8 October 2011.

In the framework of Eastern Bakony LIFE+ program on 19 October 2011 the employees of the Balaton-felvidék National Park Directorate carried out the monitoring of transformation of the Pinus Nigra Forest and the Pubescent Oaks planting.

Exchange of technical experience at Riga

Tapasztalatcsere vendéglátónk székhelyénRepresentatives of our consortium made a visit in Latvia in September. The aim of the travel was to get acquainted with the experience of a military-conservation cooperation, which is similar to the East Bakony project. On the first day a workshop program was held. In addition to the Latvian project, also the Slovakian ZAHORIA SANDS project and the Hungarian East Bakony project were introduced.

Tractor accident

Valtra T161 tractorThe new Valtra type tractor of HM VERGA Zrt. had a traffic accident on 9th September, 2009, on a military road-section closed from general use. Passengers of the car, crashed into the Valtra tractor of HM VERGA Zrt. for reasons unknown, got away with without any personal injury. The tractor had been procured in the course of a procurement tender by HM VERGA Zrt. in connection with the Eastern Bakony project.

Fire prevention actions for preserving natural values

There are several areas valuable from the aspect of nature conservation at the shooting range. Owing to military activities, these natural areas have been under fire hazard several times. More actions were organized by HM VERGA Zrt. in the scope of the East Bakony project for the sake of preventing accidental fire and assisting extinguishing works. These involve the establishment of fire prevention zones (so-called firebreaks) and construction of a water reservoir at the area of the shooting range.
